lyrics
How could we save us, when this world would break us
A faulty perception of lies
As if you've ever seen the world through my eyes
Like thieves draining the world of its youth
Deception parading and masquerading as truth
Destined to fail (how could we see)
We brought ourselves to this fate (how this could be)
Hoping its anything but too late (too late)
We created this world of lust
Consumed by consumerism
Manipulated by
Materials
With nothing to save us from ourselves
a perfect showcase for extreme technical mastery, but unlike almost every other band at this level, the complexity and skill is not the point at all, everything is so focused on expression, emotion, energy... Converge is untouchable Giles
Quite possibly the most full-on album I've ever listened to. Intense, and then some. 'Digital Tarpit' could describe both the track and the whole album: high-pitched guitar squeals that make your fillings itch coupled with merciless, suffocating heaviness. The Avenell-esque vocals top it off perfectly.
Brilliant - punishing, but brilliant. jim_fuego
